Some years ago I belonged to a wonderful online community of crafters who generously shared ideas, templates, recipes and friendship while we drove our families crazy with our obsession.  We had access to many talented artists and designers through a monthly membership, the products offered and the freebies they always included with your purchase.

I loved being a member of the “HugClub”. The forums on pcCrafters website were where we met and shared.  My favorite was the recipe exchange; there were recipes for everything you might want. If you didn’t find it, you only had to ask and good, old-fashioned, neighborly help came swiftly.

A little while ago I came across a whole folder of recipes I had printed off. Yes, I went broke buying ink for my old inkjet; so the laser printer family came into being. Loved it, because the more print capacity it had – the more I printed!

Back to the recipe folder! I keyed in 36 of them to make an ebook of food gift ideas for you. There were many types, but the ones that caught my eye were the “gift giving” recipes – you know the kind – the CANNING JAR DRY MIX Recipes!

We joyfully filled our Mason Jars, Ball Jars, empty Mayonnaise jars, and empty baby food jars with every manner of mix and made them pretty with colorful fabric and ribbons fixed to the lids and pretty tags and labels for the jars.  Kitchen Elves;”jarred”, jar-inspired, and giddy with “jarspirations”.

Presentation was everything, that is, as long as there were good instructions and a recipe to go with the treasure in our jars. Oh, and don’t forget that warm country smile with eyes twinkling at the thought of how good it would taste in their pots, and a hug that dared them to raise their eyebrows at your thoughtfulness!

All kidding aside we shared some wonderful recipes and gifts with our co-workers, family, and closest friends.  Have some fun with this collection of recipes and share a little homemade happiness.  Go see: Country Christmas Mixed in a Jar and buy the download!
